Session summary: 

An introduction to the coroners’ inquest process and the role of community healthcare professionals in contributing evidence. The session covers the purpose of an inquest, how evidence is provided and presented, how Sirona care & health supports staff throughout the inquest process, and how learning from inquests contributes to service improvement, patient safety, and quality of care.

Benefits of Membership

  • Exclusive monthly webinars for our member organisations’ staff Topics will be determined by member organisations to meet their changing CPD needs. Themes may include wound care, delivering vaccines, IPC, long covid, research, mentoring, integration, understanding the NHS landscape. All nurses and AHPs within member organisations will be able to access the webinars
  • Career Development for Rising Stars Each year the QICN will invite member organisations to identify two rising stars in the organisation to participate in four career development online support sessions. These sessions will be led by expert staff members and Fellows of the QICN.
  • Political Influencing programme – offered once a year Two senior nurses in each member organisation will be offered the opportunity each year to participate in a member-only political awareness programme led by an ex-MP and/or previous Health Minister. This will include programme webinars, practical exercises in creating evidence to influence policy, and a visit to Westminster to witness political processes in action (e.g. witnessing a select committee in action) and to meet MPs of all parties as a group.
  • Leadership Programme – discounts The QICN has developed a highly regarded Aspiring Leaders programme specifically for nurses and AHPs working in any community setting. It is notable that the programme has a zero drop-out rate for the last 6 years, and on average 50% of participants change their jobs to a more senior or more responsible role by the end of the 10-day programme which is delivered over the course of a year. Individual mentorship is offered throughout the programme. Member organisations will be offered a 10% discount on the fees for every place on the programme.
  • Innovation and Quality Improvement – Community of Practice webinars – 6 peryear The QICN has an excellent track record in supporting nurse-led innovations in practice. We will offer membership organisations the opportunity to learn from successful Innovation and Quality Improvement project leaders to share and spread good practice focussed on a wide variety of settings. In this way, the practical skills of delivering and evaluating new ways of working will be shared with real examples within membership organisations. 67% of innovation projects supported by the QICN continue in with provider organisations, with many becoming part of commissioned services.

1I am an employee of a Member Trust. Do I need to register to be able to access content?

Yes, you’ll need to register to access webinars and recordings exclusively available for our organisational members’ employees. Simply follow the link at the top of the page and submit your information. Then you’ll receive an email confirming your registration for the platform.

2I work for a trust that isn’t on your list of members. Can I watch the webinars?

Unfortunately, these webinars are exclusively held for our members’ staff. If you think your Trust would benefit from joining our Organisational Membership, please contact your Chief Nurse and recommend us.

3Do I need to download or install any software to attend webinars?

No, you do not need to download or install any software to join our webinars. You only need to have access to the Internet. Some people may encounter technical issues with their work device. Please ask your IT team for support. If the issue persists, please try to log in from a personal device, this can be a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone.

4How do I log in on the day of the event?

Your login details will be emailed to you ahead of the event. You can use these details to access the online event.

5How long will the on-demand content be available online after a webinar concludes?

The on-demand content will be hosted for 90 days following the event.
